The Environmental Science class conducted a survey on popular restaurants and cafes in Hiroo to determine how environmentally friendly they were. To begin their research, a survey was sent out to the high school students and faculty to find out the top 5 most visited food shops by the members of Sacred Heart. Then, a rubric was constructed to determine each shop’s sustainability based on the following factors: source and type of product, energy use, packaging, waste, shop decoration, and eco-consciousness.

The purpose of this survey is to educate the community of Sacred Heart about the sustainability of the restaurants they frequent and to bring awareness to how their choices impact the environment.
