I speak conversational Indonesian, because I lived in Indonesia for my senior year of high school.

Where did you come from?

Japan, I was recently working at YIS (Yokohama International School).

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo (ISSH)?

I am an alumna and have always wanted to come back here to teach.

What is your hobby?

Shopping, movies, reading, and playing sports.

What is your favourite movie?

“Despicable Me”, especially because I love the minions, but I still love all sorts of movies.

An interesting fact about yourself?

When I was in Sacred Heart, Mr. Griffiths was my volleyball coach, Mr. Bowler was my basketball coach, and Ms. T was my track and field coach. Also, I was a part of the basketball team who became the Kanto Plain Champion.

Mr. Sean Thompson:

What subject do you teach?

I teach K/JS how to use digital tools to make their learning more effective. Also, I work as one of the administrators for the Google environment.

Where did you come from?

I am originally from Canada, but I have lived in Japan for 16 years, then moved to Bangkok for a year, and then came back to Japan to teach at ISSH.

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo?

I believed that this job was a great fit for me and my knowledge could support the people here at Sacred Heart.

What is your favourite thing about Japan?

Their honesty. Recently I lost my wallet but I got it back after a week with everything untouched.

What is your hobby?

Exercising. I like basketball, hiking, and swimming in the ocean.

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo?

I moved to Tokyo in 2001. When I first came I was looking for adventure and I thought that Japan would be the first stop on a global tour, but it became the first and the last stop.

What is your favourite thing about Japan?

I’d say the people. The people are very easy to get along with and very accommodating. They are kind and willing to bend over backwards to help you.

What is your hobby?

I am an avid baseball fan, and I support the Toronto Blue Jays who are in fact doing very well this season. I enjoy  getting out of the city, sometimes going for a little nature walk, or even if I am inside the city, I go to places like Shinjuku Gyoen with my 3-year-old daughter and my wife.

An interesting fact about yourself?

I used to play ice hockey and baseball and they are my two favourite sports.

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo?

I was away for 10 years, teaching in Czech Republic and Hong Kong, so I felt that it was time for me to come back.

What is your favourite thing about Japan?

Food, culture, and the four seasons.

What is your hobby?

Eating, traveling, exercising, and enjoying life.

I did five half marathons in one year in different parts of the world.
