Halloween Starbucks drinks
When it comes to seasonal drinks, Starbucks is always on their A game.
This Halloween season, Starbucks introduced two new frappuccinos: the “Halloween Witch” and the “Halloween Princess”.
At first glance, the Halloween Witch looks like an average chocolate frappuccino, but the bottom third of the cup is filled with a bright red apple compote.
Halloween Princess is just that: a princess themed white mocha drink, finished with baby blue and pastel pink edible pearls. On the visual-spooky scale, the Princess scores a negative; it looks like a drink that would be available at any ten-year-old girl’s birthday party.
The Witch scores slightly higher for its peculiar red compote and black chocolate sauce, but still nowhere near the “Witch’s Brew Creme Frappuccino” which was available in the US. But visuals aside, the biggest disappointment was the taste of the drinks themselves. While it’s understandable that a Halloween drink would want to aim for a certain level of sweetness, nothing can really prepare you for the rush of sugar that comes with every sip. A long lasting sugar high and stomachache seem to both come guaranteed with these purchases.
Don’t be fooled by the pretty costumes these drinks are wearing. They are both far more trick than treat.
