Caretta Shiodome illumination

You’ve seen the illuminations in Roppongi, Omotesando, and Ginza: what’s next? Take a trip to Shiodome to see the jaw-dropping Caretta Illumination!

The illumination is placed right in front of Caretta, a shopping and dining center, and is visible as soon as you get out Shiodome station. Visitors are welcome to walk around the large arena and take pictures with the dazzling display, free of cost. From 6 pm every night, a light show is put on every 15 minutes featuring songs from “Tangled” and “Frozen”. The over 250,000 LED lights flicker and change color to the beat of the music, making the show both calming and astonishing to watch.

After you’ve taken enough pictures to find “the one” to post on Instagram, Caretta is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat. The mall has a variety of restaurants including Frijoles and Subway, as well as cafes like Starbucks (this would be the perfect time to try out Goma Goma Goma!).

Unlike many other illumination events, Caretta will leave their display open to the public until February 14. Overall, it is an entertaining place to go if you have some spare time after school one day, or if you and your friends are looking for something fun to do on the weekend.
