Tiramisu frappuccino

This season, Starbucks has turned yet another popular dessert food into a drinkable form. The Tiramisu Frappuccino, which is currently only available in Japan, has trended on social media over the past month for both its uniqueness and remarkably similar taste to an actual tiramisu. The frappuccino itself is a blend of a variety of syrups (including caramel and hazelnut), coffee soaked sponge cake, and, of course, mascarpone cheese. It is completed with a layer of whipped cream and a generous sprinkle of chocolate powder. The presentation of the final product is appealing to the eye and definitely something to share on Snapchat or Instagram.

As for its taste, the Tiramisu Frappuccino tastes just like an actual tiramisu- the cheese, cocoa, sugar, and coffee can all be savored in every sip. However, if you like your tiramisu with an extra kick of coffee, you may be slightly disappointed by the frappuccino, as the taste of coffee, while definitely present, is not as strong as it is in an actual tiramisu. Additionally, similar to last season’s Goma Goma Goma, the Tiramisu Frappuccino is heavily loaded with chunks of sponge cake. The texture might initially you throw off from experiencing the taste of the frappuccino itself, but the chunks gradually disappear as you continue to consume the drink. Overall, this season’s Tiramisu Frappuccino is a hit and a definite must-try. If you live in Japan, take advantage of this exclusive opportunity and drink the frappuccino while you can!
