‘Frozen 2’
Though at first, I was skeptical of a “Frozen” sequel, when the lights dimmed, the screen widened, and the rousing opening song filled the small movie theatre, I was immediately transported to a world of color and music.
“Frozen 2” follows Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and, of course, Sven, as they travel to a mysterious land to discover the origin of Elsa’s magical powers and save their kingdom of Arendelle. Along the way, the audience is treated to awe-striking visuals, such as the powerful scene when Elsa fought against a raging current in the form of a wild horse, and songs we were still singing under our breaths hours after the end credits scrolled by.
Exploring such themes as grief, guilt, death, and family, “Frozen 2″ was both thrilling and touching. I wouldn’t be lying if I said I liked it better than the first one which, though cute, didn’t grip me in as much wonder and sometimes hair-raising excitement.
So the next time you’re looking for something to do on a Saturday (“Frozen 2″ is still showing in theatres!), why don’t you try venturing into the unknown?
