After less than a year online, The International recently won three recognition awards from SNO (School Newspapers Online): the Excellence In Writing Badge, Site Excellence Badge, and the Story Page Excellence Badge. The Excellence in Writing Badge was awarded to The International after three stories, “Skateistan: Empowering Afghani Children” (Yasmim), “Uncapping The Truth” (Mina), and “Why The Interview Is Exactly What The World Doesn’t Need Right Now” (Yasmim), were published in Best of SNO, a site dedicated to excellence in student journalism.

The Site Excellence Badge was awarded for the website’s customized homepage.

The Story Page Excellence Badge was awarded after The International editors submitted eight fully-developed stories from the current school year that go beyond the text to enhance the reader’s experience. The staff of The International hopes to earn more awards next year!
