Alumna update: Juhi Daryanani, ’12
September 10, 2015
What are you doing now?
I will return to study physiotherapy at the Northeastern graduate program.
There are so many subfields in medicine. How did you end up choosing physiotherapy?
I was initially unaware of what I wanted to do because I wasn’t exposed to the various sides of medicine. Then, I was introduced to the doctorate program which provided an internship opportunity at a hospital. My job was specifically related to neurological rehabilitation–and I loved doing it, which is how I came to do physiotherapy.
How long will you study physiotherapy?
It’s a six-year program, and I am in my third year.
How do you think Sacred Heart influenced you in what you do?
I think Sacred Heart prepared me well for the obstacles that I had to overcome.
How big is the transition from Sacred Heart to university?
It’s definitely a step up the ladder. For example, in Northeastern, to pass my specific courses, I need to get above 73%–otherwise, I have to wait a whole year to take the course again. But, I also have many more opportunities to blend fun and work.
Any tips for the Seniors?
Everything will work out fine in the end, so try not to stress too much.
