The ISSH class of 2018 welcomes five bright new members! We got to know a little more about Emu, Kennedy, Gabriella, Momoko, and Dewa.

Emu

Where did you move from?

I’ve always lived in Tokyo. I just came from TIS.

Why did you decide to move to ISSH?

My previous school ended in grade 8.

What is your favorite thing about Japan?

I like the omatsuri and the food.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Popping Shower (from Baskin Robbins).

What is your favorite book?

“Smile” by Raina Telgemeier.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing sports, such as soccer, volleyball, and table tennis. I also like socializing with my friends and doing other activities such as reading and dancing.

One interesting thing about yourself:

I’m good at hip-hop style dancing and I have long hair.

Person (dead or alive) that you would most want to meet:

Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi.

Kennedy

Where did you move from?

California, USA.

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo?

My dad is in the United States Marine Corps and he is stationed over here.

What is your favorite thing about Japan?

I love that everything is really close and I have a lot of freedom.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

“Cake Batter” from Coldstone.

What is your favorite book?

I love the Divergent Series and The Fault in Our Stars.

What are your hobbies?

I like to dance (all kinds), play volleyball, read, sing, listen to music, surf, skate and hang out with my friends.

One interesting thing about yourself:

I have danced for 11 years.

Where did you move from?

Brazil.

Why did you decide to move to Tokyo?

My dad’s job transferred us here.

What is your favorite thing about Japan?

I like that it’s safe and it’s very different from Brazil.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate.

What is your favorite book?

“The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green.

What are your hobbies?

Horseback riding.

I recently started horseback riding.

Where did you move from?

I was already living in Tokyo, I just moved from another international school.

Why did you decide to move to ISSH?

I’m not sure why. I dont really have a reason. I guess I just wanted to.

What is your favorite thing about Japan?

I like that it’s very clean.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Vanilla

What is your favorite book?

I like all the John Green novels.

What are your hobbies?

I like to play tennis and the piano.

Where did you move from?

Aoba International School.

Why did you decide to move to ISSH?

I heard that Sacred Heart offers better education for high school students.

What is your favorite thing about Japan?

The community is nice and there aren’t many dangerous situations you could be in.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate.

What is your favorite book?

“Outsiders” by  S. E. Hinton.

What are your hobbies?

I like to play volleyball.
