Nellie (Class of 2020)
“Hello, I’m Nellie. I joined Sacred Heart in 2017. I haven’t decided where I’m going to university, but I’ll either go to the USA or my home country (South Africa).
My best memory from high school would have to be going to my friends’ house after school with the rest of my friend group, raiding their fridge and pantry, and then taking a nap in her room. I’m thankful that I was able to find friends who understand me, are always there for me, and probably know more about me than my own family.
The grade 10 excursion was my favorite. At the time I liked the people I was with and I had so much fun. I still use those gold chopsticks that we designed that year so that’s nice. Also, those rooms were really nice!
These simultaneously were the best and worst years of my life. I explored new things and had so much fun meeting new, interesting people. I found love for things I never thought I would like. I also got into so much trouble and developed a lot of weird habits. I feel like I’ll never be the same after all the things I’ve been through at Sacred Heart.
High School gets better, trust me, just keep going and one day you’ll be out of here before you even know it. Once you are, you’ll get to look back at your memories and laugh about everything you’ve gone through.” – Nellie
