More from the Class of 2021 Series:

“Hey, I’m Tanya, and I joined Sacred Heart in grade 7 (2015)! In the fall, I’ll be attending the University of British Columbia.

I have a lot of amazing memories at ISSH but something that I’ll definitely remember and miss once I leave for university are Fridays after school. Almost every week on Fridays, my friends and I would do something together and just blow off some steam. It was like a treat to ourselves for working hard throughout the week. We would spend hours in a park just talking and eating snacks.

Another memorable thing that I will really miss is stressing out before our maths test with the whole class. We all would cry, laugh, and manifest together before every test because we would be so nervous. I feel like it really made us closer and bond over something all of us related to.

My favorite excursion would have to be the one in grade nine when we went to Ise. The place we went to was beautiful and the view from the hotel was so amazing. During this excursion, I became friends with some of my current closest friends. If it wasn’t for this excursion, I don’t know if I would have gotten a chance to get close to some of my favorite people.

Every day at ISSH was weird. There was not one day that went by when nothing out of the ordinary didn’t happen. You know how high school is, there’s always something happening, and something to talk about.

I am thankful for all my amazing friends and teachers who have supported me every step of my way. I have made friends at ISSH who are irreplaceable. They have helped me out countless times and have always supported me. They never fail to cheer me up when I’m having a bad day.

Remember, hard work always pays off so don’t doubt yourself and just try your hardest. Also, don’t forget to have fun and treat yourself. You NEED to have a good balance of both.” — Tanya
