“Hi, I’m Varshani, and I came to Sacred Heart in 5th grade (2013). I will be attending Northeastern University in the fall.

My best memory in ISSH was doing the Class of 2021 mural. I received many good comments about the idea, and organizing it as the Student Council President was very interesting. This was a new project, and I am very happy that I was able to introduce it to the high school. I had many alumni reach out to say that they loved the idea; this made me happy as it showcased our Sacred Heart unity.

Due to COVID-19, we were not able to have our grade 12 excursion. This would have been our last trip as a grade, and I was looking forward to going to Hiroshima. It was very weird that I could not experience a few senior activities that I had envisioned doing as a freshman, including our last excursion and prom.

My favorite excursion was the grade 11 trip as it was my last trip with the seniors. I was able to get closer to many friends and enjoyed the experience. As I did not have the senior excursion, that trip allowed me to understand the importance of appreciating the present. You never know when it will be your last time to do something, so it teaches us to have fun everywhere we go.

I’m very thankful for my friends, the school community, the education, and the opportunities I received in Sacred Heart. To all the underclassmen, I would like to remind you to have fun! You will only be in high school once, so try new things and live a life without regrets. Stay confident and stay happy!” — Varshani
