“Recently, I posted a voting poll on my Instagram story asking if anybody wanted to go to a Hey! Say! JUMP (Japanese boy band) concert with me. I was expecting responses from my friends, but a random St. Mary’s guy who I didn’t even know ended up being the only one to vote ‘yes’. So I DM’d (directly-messaged) him and we began discussing how we would get the tickets for their next concert. We struck a deal: If he ended up winning two tickets, I would get one of them. If I ended up winning two tickets, he would get one of them.

He lost and I won. So now I owe this random St. Mary’s guy one of my two Hey! Say! JUMP concert tickets….

I’ve been a fan of Hey! Say! JUMP since four years ago but I started off as a fan of a different Japanese boy band called ARASHI. I went to see the movie ‘Assassination Classroom’ because it featured ARASHI member Ninomiya but, once I saw the movie, I ended up falling in love with a different actor: Yamada Ryosuke of Hey! Say! JUMP. His acting was so good and his face was perfect!

Ever since that movie, I’ve been a fan of Hey! Say! JUMP and especially of Yama-chan (Yamada Ryosuke). My room is covered with Hey! Say! JUMP posters from magazines and, so far, I’ve been to four of their concerts and one of their plays. Even though I’m going with a random boy, I am excited for the next Hey! Say! JUMP concert. I plan to continue supporting them until they disband!” — Makoto
