As more and more middle and high schoolers rush down to our cafeteria when the 10:40 snack-time bell rings, Cezars Kitchen at ISSH has refined their menu to accommodate the popularity. Not only that, due to the longer lines at the cashiers, Cezars has also installed a new fingerprint authentication system and improved the account balance to speed up transactions.
With more than 15 new additions to the snack menu, inevitably, preferences have changed – alongside old favorites, here is the updated top ten cafeteria snacks at ISSH, ranked in order of popularity.
Sacred Heart’s favorite Cezars Kitchen snacks
1. Soft Serve Ice Cream

With 42 votes for first place, ice cream takes the title of best snack at Sacred Heart. Despite being the cafeteria’s oldest snack, it is clear that it is also the most popular—and rightfully so! Cezars Kitchen offers a variety of classic soft-serve ice cream flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Mango, and Matcha, as well as fun combination flavors like Chocolate-Vanilla and Strawberry-Vanilla. At lunchtimes, you can almost always find Sacred Heart students lined up at the self-serve machines trying to achieve the perfect swirl.
2. Handmade Pretzels

In second place is another classic: the famous Cezars Kitchen pretzels. These pretzels are the perfect choice for a breaktime snack, served warm and fresh every morning. Although the salt and cheese pretzels have been longtime staples at Sacred Heart, Cezars Kitchen has recently introduced a variety of new flavors like cinnamon sugar. With multiple savory and sweet options, every student is guaranteed to find a pretzel that will satisfy their craving.
3. Garlic Bread Rolls

Just moments after the 10:45 AM bell, Sacred Heart students race down to the cafeteria for a chance to buy the Cezars Kitchen garlic bread. Garlic bread started as a fan-favorite lunchtime side dish, but quickly became an individually sold snack after persistent requests from students. This bread is the perfect combination of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, all drenched in garlic butter for the perfect bite. Make sure to get to Cezars quickly, or all the garlic bread will be gone!
4. Long Fries/Curly Fries

At number four is a one-of-a-kind snack: long fries. Similar to the wacky potato snacks found at food stalls in Harajuku, these fries are 15+ centimeters long! These fries are a fun and creative take on Cezars Kitchen’s classic potato wedges, bringing a familiar taste to a unique shape. Students can eat these long fries alone, or pair them with the cafeteria’s complementary ketchup.
5. Chocolate Chip Cookies

It is no surprise that the classic chocolate chip cookie is a fan-favorite. While one of the simplest snacks that the cafeteria offers, the deliciousness of this cookie cannot be understated. The gooey chocolate chips and moist batter are baked to perfection, offering just the right sweetness with every bite. Even amongst more elaborate cookie options, Sacred Heart students can’t help but come back to this classic.
6. Karaage

In sixth place, Kaarage(fried chicken) is an old menu item to the cafeteria that has continued to capture the hearts of many. The chicken is crisp, fried until golden brown, and serves as the perfect quick savory snack to energize students for their classes before lunch.
7. Mini Pizza

Long hailed as the cafeteria’s most popular lunch item, it’s no wonder that the mini pizza has already become a beloved snack within just a few months. Sacred Heart students were ecstatic to see that the fan-favorite margherita pizza had arrived in the snack section this year in a brand new miniature size. Since then, the mini version has consistently sold out almost every single day. With homemade pesto, gooey cheese, and tomato sauce spread on a soft crust, it’s no wonder why.
8. S’mores Cookie

The second Top 10 cookie on this list, the signature S’mores version comes in at eighth place. The base cookie is made with the same beloved Cezars Kitchen formula, but with an extra chocolatey twist. Topped with chocolate chips and a roasted marshmallow, this dessert perfectly captures the cozy sweetness of an American classic. Insider Tip: Microwave this cookie to get the full melty bonfire-like S’mores experience!
9. Lasagna (Snack Version)

Another new snack making the list this year is the miniature lasagna. Although the mini-version is a 2025 new addition, lasagna is no stranger to Cezars Kitchen. In fact, this beloved dish was Sacred Heart’s #1 lunch of 2024! Lucky for the hardcore lasagna fans, the cafeteria has started selling small servings of this fan-favorite at breaktime as well! With soft noodles in between layers of marinara sauce and warm cheese, it is a guarantee that you’ll get the perfect bite every time.
10. Milk Chocolate Oreo Cookie

Last but not least, the milk chocolate Oreo cookie takes tenth place at Cezars Kitchen. Despite being one of the older cafeteria treats, the Oreo cookie’s rich, classic flavor topped with an extra chocolate cream crunch makes this nostalgic cookie a long-standing crowd favorite. It’s almost like a double dessert!
Just like last year, while some students prefer pretzels and some students prefer chocolate chip cookies, 100% of students can agree that Cezars Kitchen is a delicious staple of Sacred Heart.
