Kayla is a junior at the International School of the Sacred Heart. She was born in New York and lived in New Jersey for 14 years before moving to Tokyo in 2022. Kayla is very excited for her second year as a writer for The International, hoping to explore a broad range of global topics and issues. She enjoys watching movies/shows (One Tree Hill especially), listening to music (Lorde), Latin dancing, spending time with her family, and eating tacos at Taco Rico. She has enjoyed writing since elementary school, editing her middle school newspaper and publishing a children’s book. At The International, she hopes to expand her opinion-writing skills and conduct many interviews. She hopes to pursue journalism after graduating high school, utilizing all the skills acquired from her time as a staff member of The International.
