Khwaish J. (‘24), Viewpoint Editor
Khwaish is in her junior year of high school. She is an Indian who has lived in Japan since she was three months old. This is her fourth year in Sacred Heart and second year in Journalism. Her reason for continuing Journalism is the inspiration from investigative journalists who are activists, such as Maria Ressa, a Nobel Prize- winning Filipino-American journalist. Khwaish appears in her staff photo with a picture of Maria Ressa taken by Sikarin Thanachaiary from the World Economic Forum. Khwaish is a big believer of the freedom of press and believes that without the freedom of press, society cannot advance. She is really interested in reading political and historical fiction; however, she loves reading interesting nonfiction as well. She often finds herself spending hours spiraling deep into interesting scientific, political, and investigative research. She enjoys spontaneity but also likes having something to do all the time. She is really excited to be the Viewpoint editor and write for The International this year!
